Mary E. Patton

Mary E. Patton, 92, of 177 W. Davis St. Equality, passed away; Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 2:50 a.m. in Saline Care Center at Harrisburg. She was born February 10, 1916 near Harrisburg to Lawrence and Della (Milligan) Carnett. Mary married Finley Patton on December 16, 1933and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1980. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gilbertsville, Ky. Mary is survived by three sisters; Kathleen and Leo Drum of Grant Park, Ilene and Wayne Lear of Greenville, Ky., Geraldine and Dave Delucia of Homewood; one brother, Cecil and Dora Carnett of Auburn; close friend, Rosetta Colbert of Equality, special great nephew who was raised by Mary, Brian Carnett and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; husband; step mother, Murley Carnett; five brothers, T.L. , Walter, Nolan, Bob, and Bill Carnett; one sister, Halene Ruth Carnett. Visitation for Mary will be held on Thursday, February 14th from noon until service time a 2 p.m. at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral service will be officiated by Brother Daren Roach. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality. Memorials may be made in Mary's name to Sunrise Children's Services, 300 Hope Street, P.O. Box 1429, Mt. Washington, Ky. 40047.
