Max Hastings Wilson

Max Hastings Wilson, going on 97, of 715 East Main Street Ridgway, Ill., passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010, 11:55 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg. He was born January 12, 1914 in Gallatin County near New Haven, Ill., to David Luther and Anabell (Beasley) Wilson . Max married Florence Foster on December 24, 1934. He was a farmer and livestock operator. Max served as director and president of Southern Illinois Production Credit Association for forty-two years, Tri-state Federal Land Bank District Advisory Committee for eighteen years and the PCA National Advisory Board for nine years including Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of seventy-five years, Florence of Ridgway; one son, Ron Wilson also of Ridgway; granddaughter, Julie Wilson of Urbana; and sister, Hildred Grant of Ridgway. Max was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Andrew Wilson. At Max's request he will be cremated and requested no flowers but donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in the First United Methodist Church in Ridgway at 2 p.m. Family and friends are all invited to attend.
