Maybelle Fern (Colbert) Ories

Maybelle Fern “Berny” (Colbert) Ories, 89, of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Equality, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Avanta of St. Cloud, Fla.  She was born on May 4, 1924 in Equality, the daughter of Jesse James and Margaret Ellen (Milligan) Colbert.  Fern married Norman Ories on September 11, 1943.  Norman passed away on April 4, 1979.  She was a retired bookkeeper.  Fern is survived by four daughters, Norma Fern and David Shelton of St. Cloud, Fla., Vicki and Russ Brewer of Tavares, Fla., Jessica and Norm Douglass of Nokomis, Fla., and Micki and Mike Brown of Homosassa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Rick, Kristi, Shelly, and Mike; six great grandchildren, Collin, Caelyn, Cameron, Madison, Kate, and David.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Jesse Raphael and James Ralph Colbert.  Visitation for Fern will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Graveside Service will follow visitation at 12:30 p.m. at the Colbert Cemetery near Equality with Rev.
