Minnie Sue Thompson, 78, of Princeton, Kentucky formerly of Equality, Illinois, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, November 22, 2019, 10:40 p.m. at the Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. She was born on December 10, 1940 in Rocky Branch, the daughter of the late Silas B. and Merle (Bennett) Moore. On the 11th of February, 1961 she married Ronald Larry Thompson at the First Presbyterian Church in Equality. Ron preceded Minnie in death on November 8, 2006. Minnie was a beautician and administrator of the Sturgis Community Rest Home for many years. She was a member of the Equality Presbyterian Church, which she loved. Also she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Minnie is survived by her daughter, Laurie and Brian Babbs of Sturgis, Kentucky; two sons, Brian K. and Melinda Thompson of Sturgis, Kentucky, Brent and Holly Thompson of Princeton, Kentucky; four sisters, Jean Scott of Herrin, Kim and Larry Norris of Eldorado, Harlene Gibbons of Harrisburg, Georgia and Leonard LaCoss of Gary, Indiana; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Byford Moore. Visitation for Minnie will be on Monday, November 25th from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Equality Presbyterian Church. Reverend Jerry Williams will be officiating with burial at Cottage Grove Cemetery near Eldorado. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality in charge of arrangements. Donations in Minnie’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cottage Grove Cemetery.
