Myrtle Ethel Rodgers, 95, of Ridgway, passed away on Wednesday. March 9, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home. She was born February 22, 1916 to William and Lorinda (Trail) Burdick of Omaha, Ill. Ethel married Burnette Rodgers on September 28, 1932 and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1981. She was a seventy-eight year member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a fifty-nine year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ridgway Chapter 714. She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Guy and wife Billie Rodgers, Burnette "Bernie" and wife Barbara Rodgers, all of Ridgway; son-in-law, Ray Crayne of Equality; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burnette Rodgers; a daughter, Rosetta Crayne; three sisters, Neva Wood, Lela Kohl, Mildred Hosick and two brothers, Calvin C. and William Burdick. Visitation for Ethel will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Eastern Star rites at 7 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Todd White officiating with burial at Palestine Two Cemetery near Omaha.
