Nancy A. Logsdon, 71, of Shawneetown, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, 3:15 p.m. She was born on May 3, 1941 in Washington D.C. to George M. and Ruby (Nance) Scherrer. Nancy married on December 17, 1962 to Thomas A. Logsdon who survives. Nancy attended Webster College in St. Louis and studied voice at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. She enjoyed being a Antique Dealer and being a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Also she was a member of St. Kateri Catholic Church - Shawneetown Chapel. Nancy is survived by her husband, Tom Logsdon of Shawneetown; one daughter, Lucy Logsdon and her husband, Gene Forster of Norris City; two sisters, Irene Brown of Newport, N.C., Joyce Fornes of Carbondale; three brothers, Jamie Scherrer of Ridgway, Fred and Susan Scherrer of Equality, George M. and Cynthia Scherrer Jr. of Oakton, Va.; two step grandchildren, Lucy and Lora Forster. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Maude Logsdon. The family of Nancy Scherrer Logsdon invites you to attend a Memorial Mass celebrating her life on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Immaculate Conception/St. Mary’s Chapel in Shawneetown. This service will begin at 10 a.m. with lunch following in the Parish Hall. Memorials in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Shawneetown Public Library. Internet condolences may be made at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown will be in charge of arrangements.
