Neva Rose (Hopson) Allen

Neva Rose Allen, 83, of Equality, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home in Carrier Mills.  She was born in Eldorado on October 21, 1938 the daughter of the late Tilman and Mildred (Keasler) Hopson.  Neva married the Reverend Paul Eugene Allen on December 13th of 1957.  He preceded Neva in death on the 1st of October in 1999.  Neva worked for over thirty years in housekeeping at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.  She also attended the Equality Church of God.  Neva is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Cathy and Robert Simpson of Harrisburg; her son, Gene and Susan Allen of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Justin and Kelsey Allen of Harrisburg, Kristi and Travis Parks of Carrier Mills, Cody and Crista Riggle of Harrisburg, Jennifer Simpson of Marion, Emily and John Tom Douglas of New Albany, Indiana; nine great grandchildren, Carson and Peyton Allen, Isaac and Tinley Parks, Miller Riggle, Grant and Evan Noelle, Graci Robinson and Oliver Douglas; two brothers, Charlie and Linda Hopson of Raleigh, Willie and Marsha Hopson of Eldorado; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and infant sister.  Visitation for Neva will be held on Sunday, February 27th from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Pastor Duke Williams will officiate the service.  Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
