Norma Gene (Deitz) Patton

Norma Gene Patton, 84, of Shawneetown, Ill., passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, 3:45 a.m., at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind.  She was born in Harrisburg on September 17, 1934, the daughter of the late Bill and Lura (Williams) Deitz.  Norma Gene married George Warren Patton on the 30th December, 1955.  She was a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church and worked as a cook at the Gallatin County School for several years.  Norma Gene is survived by her loving husband, George Patton of Shawneetown; and one daughter, Lori and John West of Newburgh, Ind.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Theresa Eileen “Terry” Burke; one sister, Louise Scherrer and one brother, Bill “Jr.” Deitz.  Visitation for Norma Gene will be held on Wednesday, May 1st from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. Noon, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Father Steven Beatty will be conducting the service with burial at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
