Norman Robert Cushard

Norman Robert Cushard, 74, of Cave-In-Rock, Ill., passed away at his home on Saturday, August 17, 2019.  He was born on November 16, 1944 in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Thomas and Pearl (Conklin) Cushard.  He married the former Linda Marie Patton on August 18, 1964 and Linda preceded him in death on January 1, 2017.  Norman was a proud Army Vietnam veteran and a retired policeman from the Detroit Police Department.  Norman is survived by his loving family, two sons, Norman R. Jr. and Jessica Cushard of Lincoln Park, Mich., Robert T. Cushard of Cave-In-Rock; two brothers, Walter Cushard of Macomb, Mich., Harry Cushard of Marine City, Mich.; three grandchildren, Neil, Aaron and Rachael; one great grandchild, Jayden.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Alice and Mona Cushard; three brothers, Thomas, Clifford, and Theodore Cushard.  Visitation for Norman will be held on Wednesday, August 21st from 10 a.m. until 12:40 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  There will be a graveside service with Army military honors at 1 p.m. at the Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
