Oretha E. (Marcum) Oldham

Oretha E. Oldham, 79. Of Equality, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare in Eldorado.  Oretha was born on August 30, 1944 in Logan, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Flem and Dixie (Hoskin) Marcum.  She was the widow of Charles Garcie Oldham who passed away on March 26, 2019.   Oretha and Charles were married on December 18, 1963 and were blessed with three children, Tim and Rhonda Oldham of Equality, Sheila Jenkins of Equality, Connie Starns of Harrisburg.   She was a faithful member for forty years at the Social Brethren Church in Equality.  Along with her children she is survived by five sisters and one brother, Linda and Roger Marcum, Phyllis Whaley, Joyce Easterday, Freda Belcher, Brenda and Earsel Vance, Stanley and Judy Marcum,  all of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Kyle and Stephanie Oldham of Marion, Ashley and Bart Stanley of Battle Mountain, Neveda, Tyler Duckworth of Dayton, Ohio, Cory and Jonnie Starns of Fairfield; six great grandchildren, Keaton, Wyatt, McKenzie, Charles, Raylee, and Gabriel.  Oretha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Flem Marcum Jr. and Ed Marcum.  Visitation for Oretha will be held on Saturday, November 25th from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Reverend Ted Boulds and Reverend Matt Troxel will officiate the service with burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
