Osie King, 82, 339 N. McHenry St., Equality, passed away at her residence, on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 9:48 a.m. She was born February 8, 1926 in Maxie, Virginia to Jonah and Phoebe Margaret O'Quinn. Osie married Charles E. King on April 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2003. She was a registered nurse and was employed by Pearce Hospital and Egyptian Public and Mental Health Dept. In Eldorado. Osie had served on the Egyptian Public and Mental Health Dept. Board of Directors, assisted Red Cross Blood Mobile, served on Gallatin Co. T.B. Board and assisted in Heart, Mental, and Cancer Fund Drives. She was a member of Eldorado First Christian Church. Osie is survived by daughter, Margaret and Chuck Hult of Equality; two sons, David and Cathy King of Equality, John and Martha King of St. Louis, Mo.; her sister, Cosby O'Quinn also of Equality; brother, Rufus O'Quinn of Baltimore, Md. ; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents; husband; three sisters, Naomi, Roxie, Chloe; two brothers, Roy and Hollan. Visitation for Osie will be Sunday, November 23rd from 3 to 6 p.m. at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 24th at 1 p.m. with Dennis Robinson officiating. Burial will be at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi.
