Pactolis "Pat" (Goodman) Mills

Pactolis “Pat” Mills, 94, of Barnhill, Ill. formerly of Ridgway, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 8:45 p.m., at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield. She was born on July 9, 1924 in New Haven, the daughter of the late William Lloyd and Ida Alice (Ridley) Goodman. Pat married Harold Lee Mills on October 3, 1940. Her husband Harold passed away on July 6, 1975. Pat graduated from SIU - Carbondale in 1966 with a Bachelors degree in Education and retired as a teacher from the Ridgway School System. She also was a church member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Fairfield. Also Pat was a faithful member of Ridgway Order of the Eastern Star #714 and White Shrine. Pat is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Beverly and Donald Sutton of Barnhill; one granddaughter, Kimberly and Mark Phillips of Norris City; one grandson, Brent and Karen Sutton of Barnhill; two great granddaughters, Colbie and Cori Sutton also of Barnhill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Bill and Jay Goodman. Graveside funeral service for Pat will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Old Cottonwood Cemetery near Omaha with the Rev. Gary Lemmon officiating. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway in charge of arrangements. Donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the New Hope General Baptist Church in Fairfield.
