Richard Keith "Dickie" Certain, 64, of Equality passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012, 3:45 p.m. at the Marion V.A. Hospice in Marion, Ill. He was born August 19, 1947 in Equality, the son of Richard Edmon and Helen Juanita (Parker) Certain Sr. He was a member of the Shawneetown Church of God and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Dickie is survived by three sisters, Jean Modglin of Equality, Myrna Sales of Murray, Ky., Cindy and Edward Reynolds of Equality; two brothers, of Joe and Nita Certain of Georgia, Samuel F. Certain of Equality; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James E. Certain. Visitation for Dickie will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 from noon until 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality with Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating. McLain-Glover American Legion Post #595 will be conducting the military rites.
