Rick Walker

Ricky Dale “Rick” Walker, 73, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away suddenly at the Hardin County Hospital in Rosiclare on Saturday, May 11, 2024.  Rick  was born in Shawneetown on April 19, 1951, the son of the late Lee Roy and Jewell (Vinyard) Walker.  He was a retired coal miner.  Rick married his beloved Wilma F. Cook on July 9, 2004.  Along with his wife, Wilma Walker of Shawneetown he is survived by four sons, Trever Leon Walker of Shawneetown, Aaron Nicholas and Gail Walker of Boonville, Indiana, Eric Lee and Whitney Walker of Rudement, James Michael and Conie Walker of McLeansboro; one daughter, Auna Marie Hay of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Peggy Jennings of Columbia, Missouri, Betty Darlene Oakes of Washington State; four grandchildren, Abigail Walker, Gracie Lynn Walker, Helania Hefner, and Jake Riggs.  Rick was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Walker and one sister, Rita Lampert.  Visitation for Rick will be held on Tuesday, May 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Funeral will be the following day, Wednesday, May 15th at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Dutton officiating.  Burial will follow at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
