Rita Mae (Nelson) Kingston

Rita Mae Rushing Kingston, 79, of Shawneetown, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014, 9 a.m., at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.  She was born on April 13, 1935 in Henshaw, Ky., the daughter of Tobe and Estelle Nelson.  Rita was the widow of Carroll Kingston who passed away on October 25, 1969.  She retired as a nurses aide of the Loretta Nursing Home in Shawneetown.  Also, she was a member of the Shawneetown First Baptist Church.  Rita is survived by her two daughters, Connie and husband Oziel Hernandez of Shawneetown, Liz and husband Rick Davenport of Harrisburg; two sons, Rick and wife June Rushing of Shawneetown, Billy Joe Rushing of Carmi; one surviving sister, Lottie Downs of Morganfield, Ky.; fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Phyllis Rushing Pumphrey; several sisters and brothers.  Visitation for Rita will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jack Hall officiating.  Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery near Morganfield, Ky.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Woodland Cemetery.
