Robert Anthony Fixsal

Robert A. Fixsal , 68, of Shawneetown, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 21, 2013, 5:51 a.m. He was born on April 3, 1944 in Taylorville, Ill., the son of Carl Harry and Beatrice Marcella (Graham) Fixsal. Robert married Ruby Katherine Ballantini on July 18, 1964. He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA. Robert is survived by his wife, Ruby Fixsal of Shawneetown; five daughters, Marcy and James Hall of Harrisburg, Angie Chmielewski of Shawneetown, Robin and David Duvall of St. Louis, Mo., Lisa Holloway of Ridgway, and Shannon Smith of Shawneetown; sister, Carol Ann Plopper of Morrisonville, Ill.; two brothers, John Fixsal of Morrisonville, Ill. and Floyd Fixsal of Taylorville, Ill.; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Cathy Threnn; and brother, Carl Fixsal Jr. Visitation for Robert will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral services will be held at the funeral chapel on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
