Robert Archie Noel

Robert Archie Noel, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011, 5:40 p.m. at the Ridgway Nursing Home in Ridgway. He was born on November 13, 1921 in Harrisburg to Archie and Winnie (Endicott) Noel. Robert married Mildred Lucas in March of 1946, she preceded him in death on November 5, 1999. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1981. Robert also proudly serviced his country during World War Two in the Air Force. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. Robert is survived by a daughter, Sue and Randy Vickery of Junction; one son, John Noel of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael Noel of Jacksonville, Fla., Travis Vickery of Marion, Katie and Wes Hettenbach of Evansville, Ind.; one great grandson, Eli Vickery. He preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Sue Bozarth and Ruth Peak. Graveside service for Robert will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Gardens in Harrisburg with military rites by the Harrisburg American Legion post #167.
