On February 22, 2022 Ronnie David Shea of Junction, Illinois passed away at his residence in Dupo at age of 49. He was born on April 11th of 1972 in Woodstock, the son of John A. and Alene (Rider) Shea. Ronnie grew up on the family farm having a peaceful and hardworking childhood. Throughout his school years he was known as a Basketball Star. Ronnie’s best friend was Chris Kilmer. Ronnie was a very loyal friend, if you had his back he had yours. Ronnie was a very accomplished mechanic, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He would always say, “I can weld the crack of dawn, but I can’t fix stupid.” He spent many years out West in Gold, Copper, Coal, and Uranium mines working as a Head Diesel Mechanic and Underground Electrician. Ronnie was a natural Entrepreneur who at one point even owned his own Trucking business “Shea Trucking”. Ronnie is survived by his loving parents, John and Alene Shea of Junction; his loving brother Johnny Shea of Junction; his two loving daughters, Morgyn Shea of Junction and Hanna Shea of Junction; his only son, Josh Shea of Oakhurst, California; his four grandchildren, Jason Rainey and Aliya Rainey of Junction, Aurora Yates and Layla Yates of Junction; his grandmother, Bernice (Murphy) Rider of Ridgway and his very special and loyal canine companion, Bella. Visitation for Ronnie will be held on Friday, March 4th from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Monsignor Joseph Lawler will officiate the service. Burial will follow the funeral service at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality.
