Roy M. Jester

Roy M. Jester, 86, of Shawneetown, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012, 3:45 p.m., at the Wabash Christian Retirement Home in Carmi, Ill. Roy was born on July 1, 1926 in Gila, Ill., the son of Ernest Raymond and Lela (Cox) Jester. He married Marjorie Louise McGee on July 14, 1948 and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2000. Roy was a retired farmer and a lifetime member of the Newman Masonic Lodge #369. He is survived by two sons, Kent and Gleness Jester of Junction, Kevin Jester of Shawneetown; three sisters, Myra Conant of Fort Wayne, Ind., Betty Sellers of Oconomowoc, Wis., Mary Fisher of Loveland, Colo.; one brother, Ed Jester of Monticello, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kenny and Angie Jester of Junction, Teresa and Joseph Crissup of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Gary and Misty Jester of Cottonwood; and ten great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death of his parents; his wife; one sister, Lois Jester and one brother, John Jester. Visitation for Roy will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Masonic service will be 7 p.m. with Equality Masonic Lodge #2 conducting the service. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at Noon at Joines-Appleby Funeral Home in Newman, Ill.
