Ruby Jean Stacy Micas, 91, of Carmi, Ill. formerly of Shawneetown, passed away at the Wabash Christian Village in Carmi on Sunday, May 19, 2019. She was born on March 8, 1928 in Bowlesville, Ill., the daughter of the late Sherman and Nell Mae (Thompson) Stacy. She married Hillard William Micas Sr. on June 16, 1946. Hillard preceded her in death on February 2, 2008. She was a member of the Calvary’s Promise Church in Shawneetown. Ruby is survived by her loving family of two daughters, Reba Sue Bena of Belleville, Vicki Davis of Eldorado; one son, Hillard W. Micas Jr. of Anna; one sister, Twila R. Miner of Omaha; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Virginia Sparks; two brothers, Robert H. and Charles S. Stacy. Visitation for Ruby will be held on Tuesday, May 21st from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. The Rev. James R. Hubbard will officiate the service with burial at the Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
