Ruth (Mcghee) Barbre

Mary Ruth Barbre, 75, of Equality, Illinois, passed away after an extended illness at her home on Thursday, July 29, 2021.  She was born on September 1, 1945 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Edgar and Frances (Barger) McGhee.  Ruth married Robert “Bob” Barbre on June 11, 1971.  Sadly, Bob preceded Ruth in death on May 15th of 2000.  Ruth worked as secretary at the AJAX Engineering for twenty years and was a member of the Equality Church of God. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Debbie and Jim Jones of Clearwater, Florida, Tina Glover of Eldorado; her sister, Patty Blair of Shawneetown; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Paul Maynard; one sister, Judy Holloway.  Private family burial at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality in charge of arrangements.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.  Family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Southern Illinois; caregivers, Girard and Kim; special friend, Miss Bea and her neighbors.
