Samuel Robert Norris

Samuel Robert "Bob" Norris, age 100 of Morganfield, Ky. passed away at Shemwell Nursing Home in Providence, Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was a life-long farmer in Grove Center. After retiring from farming, he entertained school children with exotic bird tours raised on the farm. He was a member of Grove Center Methodist Church.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ethel Norris; sister, Mary Francis Henshaw.  Survivors include, wife of seventy-two  years, Erma Norris of Morganfield; one daughter, Karla and Tom Higdon of Morganfield; two  sons, Sammy and Sue Norris of Morganfield, Russell and Carolyn Norris  of Uniontown; nine granddaughters, Melanie and Jason Byrd of Sturgis, Cindy and Mark Evans of Pride, Deidre and Mickey Burns of Morganfield;  Farrah and Mike Burgess of Morganfield; Angie and Jimmy Peyton of Harrisburg, Ill., Ashley Martin of Uniontown,  Alicia and Tommy Carr of Morganfield,  Valerie Evans of Owensboro,  Stephanie Howard of Evansville, Ind.; six great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren.   Funeral service for Bob will be 12 p.m. noon, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Brother Don House and Brother Ray Buckman will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.  Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to Grove Center Methodist Church.
