Sheryl (Gouty) Woods

Sheryl Woods, 81, of Harrisburg, Illinois formerly of Ridgway passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Saline Care Nursing and Rehab Center in Harrisburg.  Sheryl began her life on December 30, 1940 in Danville, the daughter of the late Paul Herschel and Alma Louise (Brewer) Gouty.  She married Ronald Lee Woods on July 1, 1964.  Sheryl and Ron are members of the McKinley Avenue Baptist Church and also the Ridgway Baptist Church.  Also she was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Order of the Eastern Star Ridgway Chapter #714.  Sheryl is survived by her husband, Ron Woods of Harrisburg; two daughters, Kimberly Ennis of Morganfield, Kentucky, Kara and James Carlton of Harrisburg; one brother, Alva and Charlotte Gouty of Tilton; one sister, Marcia Jenkins of Covington, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Karen Gouty of Evansville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Herb and Aretha Ennis, Brittany Edwards, Jonathan Carlton, and Kailyn Carlton; three great grandchildren, Kaiden, Ja`Bria, and Kyron.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Gouty.  Visitation for Sheryl will be held on Monday, November 7th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Funeral service will at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 8th at 10 a.m. with Reverend Ted Boulds officiating.  Burial will be at the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway.  Donations in Sheryl’s memory may be made to the Ridgway Baptist Church Building Fund.
