Susie Mae (Mccollum) Ozee

Susie Mae Ozee, 88, of Henderson, Kentucky formerly of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 13th , 2024 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.  She was born in Arkansas on August 10th, 1936, the daughter of the late Thomas Francis and Evelyn (Booth) McCollum. Susie married on December 24th, 1953 to Robert Amos Ozee who preceded her in death on January 17th, 2008.  She worked many years at Roberta’s Quilts in Shawneetown and was well known for being a wonderful seamstress.   Susie is survived by her two sons, Jim Ozee of Henderson, Bobbie and Connie Ozee of Kerens, West Virginia; two sisters, Ruby Alexander of Cave-in-Rock, Lucille Hall of Shawneetown; one brother, Harold “Short” and Sherry McCollum of Dixon; four grandchildren, Heather Ozee, Matt Ozee, Sam Voda and April Stout; seven great and five great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Evelyn; her husband, Bob; her daughter, Violet Sue Nunley; her grandson, Mark Nunley; three brothers, Ralph, Thomas “Doodle”, and Edward McCollum.  Visitation for Susie will be held on Friday, August 16th from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Reverend Ron Johnson will officiate with burial to follow the service at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
