Ted W. Blady

Ted W. Blady, 74, of Junction, Ill., passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019.  Ted was born in Flint, Michigan on January 21, 1945, to the late Theodore “Ted” and Lillian “Bea” (Dillon) Blady.  He graduated from Cave In Rock High School in 1963.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  After being discharges from his service, Ted worked at the Chrysler Corp. In St. Louis, enjoyed playing his drums in a band, and worked at Job Corp. In Morganfield, Ky.  He later went to work for the Department of Corrections until his retirement.  On March 30, 1984, Ted married his true love, Lucinda(Hise) Sharp.  Together they raised seven children; Kelly, Jimmy, Jason, Wanda, Christopher, Robbie”Dutch”, and Theodore.  Ted enjoyed being outdoors.  He did carpenter work, loved hunting, fishing, or just being our target shooting.  Ted leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Lucinda Blady; four sons, Jim (Sheri) Sharp, Jason (Breanna) Sharp, Robbie “Dutch” (Ramie) Dunk, Theodore Dunk and girlfriend Chelsey Griffith; daughter, Wanda (Jason) Polley; fourteen grandchildren, Jalyn Sharp, Jerzi Sharp, Andrew Sharp, Christopher Sharp, Makenzie Sharp, Juliet Harvey, Samuel Sharp, Jase Polley, Jordan White, Jayden Polley, Jason White, Jaren Polley, Kaliber Kreid, and Rowen Wayne Dunk; two sisters, Carol Ann Wagner and Donna (James) Cowsert; several nieces and nephews.  Ted was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Dunk; one son, Christopher Sharp; a daughter in law, Michelle Sharp; his parents, Ted Blady, Lillian “Bea” and second dad, Billy Don Moore; grandparents, John and Rose Blady, Clarence Dillon, Clara and Perry Beavers; two brothers, Johnny and Henry Blady.  All who knew him will miss him, his sense of humor and jokes he loved to pull on everyone.  Visitation for Ted will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Rev. Larry Lewis will officiate the service with burial at Westwood Cemetery with military rites by Shawneetown American Legion along with the military honors team.
