Thelma G. (Garza) Smith

Thelma G. Smith, 66, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Parents Paradise Group Home in Surprise, Arizona.  She was born on February 6th , 1954 in Laredo, Texas, the daughter of the late Eugene and Hortensia (Hernadez) Garza.  Thelma married George F. Smith on June 8, 1989.  She was retired from General Motors as a production worker.  Thelma is survived by her husband, George F. Smith; her sister, Martha Mata; four brothers, Roy, Hugo, Jessie, and Art Garza.  Including her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Geno and Al Garza.   Visitation for Thelma will be held on Tuesday, December 1st from 10 a.m. until Funeral Mass time of 11 a.m. at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway, Illinois.  Father Steven Beatty and Father Christian Iwuagwu will officiate.  Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery near Ridgway.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown will be charge of the arrangements.
