Thomas Ray Milligan, 74, of Equality, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. The son of the late Cecil and Mildred I. (Mahan) Milligan, he was born in Equality on November 4, 1945. He enlisted in the Army when he turned eighteen and served for twenty-one years. Tom retired as a master sergeant. Also he was a Church of God ordained minister. On December 12, 1967 he married the former Mary Jane Cole and she preceded in death on April 1, 2006. His second marriage began on November 7, 2012 with Katherine Ruth Rogers and she passed away on January 28, 2015. Tom was a member of to the McLain-Glover American Post #595 in Equality. He is survived by his son Thomas Ray Jr. and Melissa Milligan of LaFayette, Georgia; three daughters, Karen Collins of Hephzibah, Georgia, Betsy McCreary of Benton, Louisiana, Ginnie Burnett of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Iris and Bruce Gowan of Equality, Connie Fay Williams of Equality; nine grandchildren, Rebekah Marie Milligan, Zachary Thomas Milligan, Caitlin Nichole Collins, Cailie Collins, Steven Brock, Steva McCreary, Savanna McCreary, Chris Perking, and Johnathon Burnett; his great grandson, Lucas Milligan and nine step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; two brothers, Cecil “Mus” Milligan Jr. and Ronnie Milligan. He will be buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, Georgia. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality in charge of arrangements.
