Thomas E. Pinkston, 76, a lifelong resident of Shawneetown passed away, Sunday, December 9, 2007, at 4:45 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, surrounded by his family. He was born in Shawneetown on January 26, 1931 to Oscar and Flora (Morehead) Pinkston. Tom married Josephine Smith on March 21, 1960. Tom is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Josie Pinkston; three daughters, Marilyn (Ray) Nally of Morganfield, Ky., Pam (Jerry) Bryant of Junction, Debbie (Tim) Moore of Shawneetown; two sons, Tom (Gena) Pinkston of Junction, Charlie (Linda) Pinkston of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two sisters, Thelma Case of Carrier Mills, Wilma Dempey of Alton; one brother, Jody and Wiladean Pinkston of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren; six great grandschildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Deem, and a daughter, Sheila Ann Pinkston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tom operated the Zephyr gas station for twenty-nine years in Shawneetown. He attended the Junction General Baptist Church. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Visitation for Tom will be held, Tuesday, December 11th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12th at 1 p.m. with Rev. Michael Rushing officiating.
