Tildon L Van

Tildon L. Van, 56, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.  He was born on January 23, 1964 in Eldorado, the son of the late Virgil Lee and Novella (Hafley) Van.  Tildon married Mary R. Vaughn on the 7th of June in 1985.  For over twenty years he was a truck driver for Meuth Concrete Company in Henderson, Kentucky.  Also Tildon was a member of the Ohio Valley General Baptist Church in Shawneetown.  Tildon is survived by his loving wife, Mary Van of Shawneetown; one daughter, Brooke Van and Jake Light of Eldorado; one son, Andrew and Larissa Van of Johnston City; three sisters, Virgie and Brian Patton of Shawneetown, Marlene and Roy Lynch of Ridgway, Joyce and Stanley Weddell of Waverly, Kentucky and one brother, Arval Van Sr. of Shawneetown.  He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Lois Taylor, Wanda Osborne, Wilma Gobtop, and Opal Matthews.  There will be a visitation for Tildon on Tuesday, July 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Funeral services will be on the following day on Wednesday, July 22nd at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Perry Musgrave officiating the service.  Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.  Due to Convid-19, masks and social distancing will be required.
