Tracie Annette Stanelle

Tracie Annette Stanelle, 38, of 149 W. Posey Ave. , Shawneetown, Ill., passed away peacefully at her home after an extended illness on September 11, 2007 at 6:08 a.m. She was surrounded by family and close friends. Tracie was born on September 30, 1968 in San Antonio, Tex. Tracie was a registered nurse and worked at several hospitals around the country through the Traveling Nurse Program and her last position was at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill. She is survived by her father, Mike and Melanie Stanelle of Shawneetown; mother, Sharon Sue (Keating) and Dennis Thompson of Harrisburg; grandmothers, Joyce Thompson of Junction and Catherine Stanelle of Shawneetown; several aunts and uncles, Sheila and John Hathaway of Harrisburg, Sherry Keating of Tampa, Fla., Sandy and Gene Butts of Sturgis, KY, Greg and Becky Stanelle of Shawneetown, Gail and David Wenzel of Terre Haute, Ind.; and several cousins. The most important person she had to leave was her two year old daughter, Anna Kate Stanelle. Tracie was preceded in death by grandparents, Tom and Annetta Keating and Dr. W.F. Stanelle M.D. She will be greatly missed by her family and close friends as they comforted her as she fought her illness. Her smile and love for her friends will never be forgotten. There will be no more tears or pain in heaven. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 12th , from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 13th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown with Father Mark Stec officiating.
