Violet Lavern Beaver, 91, longtime resident of Equality, Illinois, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21st, 2025 at the Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg. Violet was born in Equality on February 12th of 1934 in the midst of the Great Depression. She was the daughter of the late James and Anita (Millspaugh) Sisk. Violet married Elbert Eugene “Gene” Beaver on March 25th of 1950. Sadly, Gene preceded Violet in death almost ten years prior on June 1st of 2015. A Christian in Faith she attended the Church of God. Violet is survived by her loving family, her son, Preston Beaver of Equality; her sister, Rennie Knight of Equality; two brothers, John “Wimp” Sisk of Junction and Ronnie “Bud” Sisk of Equality; three grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Beaver of Norris City , Jarred Beaver of Equality, Phillip Mills of Marion; five great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Courtney, Raylan, Chloe, and Gabrielle. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Lawana Jean Hancock; her sister, Molly L. Honea; her great granddaughter, Claire Beaver. There will be a graveside funeral service for Violet on Tuesday, February 25th at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality. Reverend Toby Hise and Reverend Harold Miller will officiate the service. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality will be in charge of the arrangements.
