Violet M. Koerber

Violet M. Koerber, 71, of 191 E. Wilson Ave., Shawneetown, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 2:37 p.m. at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born on July 12, 1936 in Bowlesville to William F. and Ruby Pearl (Gentry) Smith. Violet married Bernard D. Koerber on December 17, 1956 and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1967. Violet is survived by two sons, Kirk and Diana Koerber of Equality, Kevin and Mary Koerber of Omaha; a sister, Martha Jean Douglass of Elizabethtown ; a brother, Billie Jack Smith of Shawneetown; niece and care giver, Stephanie Smith of Shawneetown, two grandchildren, Justin Koerber and Racheal Koerber; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents and husband. Visitation for Violet will be Friday, March 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
