Clarence Wayne Whipple, 84, of Omaha, Illinois, passed away at his home on Friday, October 8, 2021. Wayne was born on November 26, 1936 in Omaha, one of six children of the late Rufus and Doris (Switzer) Whipple. He married Judy Vickers on June 4th of 1960. Judy preceded Wayne in death on February 8th of 2017. Wayne served his country during the Vietnam Conflict and retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant and went on to a career in the Federal Aviation Administration. As a Veteran Wayne belonged to the Ridgway American Legion Post #596. Wayne is survived by his loving family; his daughter, Lori and Gregory Wohletz of Las Vegas, Nevada; his son, Russell and Deena Whipple of Golden Valley, Arizona; five grandchildren, Brian Whipple of Evansville, Indiana, Albert Wohletz of San Francisco, California, Erin Wohletz of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kaleb Whipple of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jake Whipple also of Las Vegas. He has one great grandchild, Clementine Whipple. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Joann Raney; four brothers, Merrill “Gene”, Carl, Lloyd, and Richard Whipple; his son, Scott Whipple. There will be a celebration of Wayne’s life on Saturday, October 16th starting at Noon at his home in Omaha. There will be a private interment at the Bethlehem Cemetery near Omaha.
