Wilma Ruth (Head) Mcdermott Brown

Wilma Ruth McDermott Brown, 86, resident of Shawneetown passed away Wednesday August 5, 2015 at her residence.  Wilma was born September 18, 1928 to the late Albert and Sarah (Williams) Head. She was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church.  She was a hairdresser by trade.  On April 5, 1947 she married Joseph B. McDermott who preceded her in death September 12, 2005.  On March 30, 2009 she married Clarence Jackson Brown, who survives.  In addition to her husband Clarence, she is survived by two sons; Robert (Chris) McDermott of Shawneetown, Paul McDermott of Shawneetown, a granddaughter; Alisha (Michael) McDermott Moore of Shawneetown, three grandsons; Jeff McDermott of Omaha, Steven (Tristan) McDermott of Shawneetown, Nathan (Ashley) McDermott of Shawneetown, two brothers; James Albert (Betty Jo) Head of Shawneetown, Billy D. (Betty Irene) Head of Shawneetown and  10 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by a son; Roger Dale McDermott, a sister; Eula May Berlin, a grandson; James Joseph McDermott and a sister; Sarah Elizabeth Rich.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday August 8, 2015 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with Rev. Mike Johnsey And Rev. Cherrie Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday August 7, 2015 at the funeral home.
